Makerikeri: a red/orange cheese named after our local creek in the apple growing belt of Loburn.
A lovely earthy cheese flavoured with annatto seed, which melts beautifully. This cheese is lovely on it's own on a cracker, but divine when grilled on crushed potatoes, when the aroma of the annatto is truly released. Makerikeri has a creamy texture, with an array of fine holes and an umami aroma. It's colour is striking so adds to any cheeseboard.
